Learn more about The Drunken Laboratory and what ignited the flame to start such a scientific plunge into the entertainment industry!
The Drunken Laboratory started as an after school program exciting disadvantaged students into the incredible world of science . The founder Cautney Nelson started this nonprofit, Millennial Scnce, in March of 2019 after quitting her job as a Patient Coordinator. MillennialScnce allowed her to teach minority students through STEM focused programs. Children & adults loved the programs Cautney curated and she sought to reach an older crowd of science lovers in an innovative way.
In October of 2019, “Scnce & Sip’ was born where Cautney developed the idea to create an experience where adults could conduct outlandish experiments while sipping drinks with their friends. The idea stuck but not the name. Listed on Groupon on November 25th, 2019 the voucher for guests to get in on the experience was live but did not attract any guests. With the birth of the new name “The Drunken Laboratory” caught customers attention and sold out in 2 weeks without any location, reviews or even an Instagram page! The Drunken Laboratory averaged over 1,500 views daily on its freshly made website and was one of Groupon’s most viewed experiences in NYC. After many successful events, in March of 2020 The Drunken Laboratory broke out to Boston and sold out all 4 events in a matter of days.
The Drunken Laboratory continues to expand and plans to reach new science fanatics on the west coast in May of 2021 at their first pop-up in LA. The Drunken Laboratory will also start franchising opportunities in June 2022. When asked why is her focus on franchising Cautney replies "Experimenting takes people to a whole new world & in those few moments, the gift of life becomes cherished. I want to amplify those feelings so people don't leave into the world the same".
The Drunken Laboratory strives to create memorable love-filled moments to guests by providing groups focused interactive experiences that electrify all races, gender and cultures into the wacky world of science & inner creativity.
